Prices start at $250. This includes a two hour shoot, online proof gallery, and three final retouched high resolution images delivered as digital files via email. For complete list of packages, click
here.
How many shots do you take?
As many as necessary. Usually around 200.
How are the final images delivered?
You will receive a high resolution jpeg files ready to take to the printer.
What happens to the shots I don't choose?
Web sized versions of ALL shots will be available for download from an online gallery for six months following the shoot. These are web versions that look good online, but are not big enough to
print. If you wish to have a CD with high resolution files of ALL your shots, and additional fee of $200 applies.
Is a makeup artist included in the fee?
No. A makeup artist is not included in the fee. However, you are welcome to bring one. Or, if you need assistance in finding a makeup artist, I can connect you with some of the best. However,
you will negotiate their fee separately.
How many looks can we shoot?
Three looks for the base package. Five looks for the 5 Star Package. Additional looks are available for $50 each.
What happens if, following the shoot, I'd like additional photos retouched and delivered as a high resolution file?
Additional retouching is available for $25 each.
What is "basic retouching?"
Just as you wouldn't put your film into a theatre without editing, it's not recommended to use a headshot that hasn't been retouched. I keep my editing simple. Cleaning up things like zits,
wrinkles, lint, or other blemishes if necessary. I don't want you to look like a different person, but taking that jelly stain off of your collar might be a good idea. But more than just lint removal, I
can also add a bit more light to draw attention to your eyes, a touch more color to make you "pop" or add/subtract contrast to make you look your best. However, keep in mind the word "basic."
So I won't be making you taller, shorter, thinner, thicker, or into any other alien life form. Unless, of course, you're auditioning for a sequel to E.T.
I'm a model. Can I use the session to shoot images from my modeling portfolio?
Headshot rates applies to headshots only. However, I do shoot model portfolios. For more information, visit www.christophermalcolmphotography.com.
Can the session be split between more than one model?
No. However, group discounts do apply. Contact me for specific requests.
Do you shoot both men and women?
I'm an equal opportunity photographer.
Where is your studio?
The studio is located in Downtown Los Angeles on Traction Ave.
What kind of equipment do you use?
My kit changes depending on the assignment. But generally you'll see a Nikon in my hand and Profoto lighting.
Is there a deposit required?
Yes. A $100 deposit is due prior to your session. The deposit costs will be deducted from the cost of the shoot. So, for example, if you choose the $250 Base Package, you will pay $100
(through PayPal) to secure the session, and then owe the $150 balance at the shoot. Cancellations are accepted 24 hours prior to shoot. If shoot is rescheduled, your deposit amount can be
applied to the future session.
Do you offer re-shoots or refunds?
Re-shoots are available for technical failure ONLY (out of focus, camera failure, corrupted files). Re-shoots will NOT be granted based on aesthetic reasons.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. I rent the studio on an as-needed basis. So, if you show up without an appointment, you will likely find a very confused owner :-)
